Ultrasound scans

As part of the South West Imaging Training Academy training programmes, our qualified doctors, sonographers and trainee sonographers currently scan ultrasound patients on behalf of University Hospitals Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust. No appointments are booked through the Academy itself and if you require an ultrasound scan you must access this service through your GP surgery or be referred from University Hospitals Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust. 

MRI/CT scans

There is a mobile MRI/CT scanner that attends the site on a regular basis to scan patients on behalf of University Hospitals Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust. No appointments are booked through the Academy itself and if you require an MRI/CT scan you must access this service through your GP surgery or be referred from University Hospitals Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust.

If you have an appointment at the South West Imaging Training Academy, please leave plenty of time to find us. We are located at Plymouth Business Park, Derriford, Plymouth PL6 5WR.

Parking 

There are marked patient car parking spaces available at the front of the building. There are also plenty of disabled spaces if required. Please ensure you bring change for the Pay and Display Machine as parking charges apply. The current tariff can be found on the University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust website.

Waiting Area 

The Academy has a small waiting area so when attending your appointment, you are advised not to bring lots of family and friends with you.

Wi-Fi 

The Academy provides access to a free guest Wi-Fi network.

Refreshments 

The Academy has a water cooler in reception that patients are able to use.
