Interventional radiology (IR) is an exciting subspecialty within radiology which utilises minimally invasive image guided procedures to both diagnose and treat disease. Image guided treatments are widely performed by interventional radiologists, from cancer treatment to trauma, sepsis control to reproductive health, emergency and elective procedures all performed though radiological guidance and minimally invasive techniques.

This two-day course is aimed at radiology resident doctors in the first three years of training and junior residents.

The Interventional Radiology ‘The Basics’ course is designed to introduce junior resident doctors and non-radiology doctors to this fascinating and diverse area of medicine. The course allows delegates to experience expert teaching and hands on guided sessions where you can begin to explore just what can be done through a small skin nick. This is delivered through a combination of lectures, tutorials and workshops with the focus on hands on learning. Delegates are introduced to basic IR concepts and provided with an opportunity to practice various procedures in a relaxed atmosphere. Our dedicated faculty is comprised of enthusiastic consultants, expert industry partners and senior residents.
